The designer
Barbara Marc comes from a family of avid travelers, architects, and psychoanalysts, all united by a deep fascination with cultural diversity and tradition. From an early age, Barbara’s travels around the world became her greatest source of inspiration.
With a degree in architecture and design, Barbara graduated from the École Camondo in Paris. After a decade in Los Angeles, she has now returned to Paris.
Her work spans private residences, public spaces, restaurants, boutiques, as well as furniture and set design for stage and film.
In 2025, she launched her clothing brand as a new creative outlet—exploring different materials, forms, and techniques while bringing the same artistic vision she developed as an architect.

The brand
Crossbeams refers to the fundamental framework that supports a roof. The word establishes a link between the designer's origins as an architect and her subsequent journey towards the world of fashion.
Crossbeams' pieces draw inspiration from diverse cultures and the craftsmanship of artisans worldwide.
Designed in Paris, our sweatshirts are made from organic cotton woven in Portugal. Each piece is crafted in a family-owned workshop in Porto that upholds the same values as the designer, ensuring quality, sustainability, and attention to detail.

The collection
Our first collection features three sweatshirt models in a range of colors. Combining quality materials and finishes with elegance and comfort.
The pieces are inspired by the designer's travels across North America, blending regional influences into each design. From the cowboy shirts of Wyoming and the American Southwest (The Western) to Pennsylvania’s traditional patchwork assemblages, reflected in asymmetrical sleeve details (The Patchwork), to the effortless elegance of Palm Springs soirées and Frank Sinatra’s iconic dress shirts (The Tuxedo)

The label
Each creation features a sewn on label, drawn by Barbara Marc in black ink with a trembling stroke, printed on thick cream-colored cotton fabric.
The design represents the essence of our brand-combining esoteric symbols of construction suspended above an ocean and inspired by Japanese woodblock printing techniques.
